Sunday 3 August saw us returning to Weston for our summer AutoSolo, now bearing a name connecting it with the area in which it runs. Not surprisingly it was wet when we arrived but fortunately the rain soon stopped. The paddock began to fill with competitors arriving from as far afield as Northants and South Devon, Sutton Coldfield and Dorset, to make up our maximum entry of 40 (8 more than last August), and by the time the event got under way the breeze had more-or-less dried the track.
The day ran smoothly and uneventfully, everyone appearing to have a whale of a time, with some very close competition for top honours in several of the classes, with some showers to spice things up a bit as the day wore on. FTD went to Steve Woodings of Farnborough DMC in his MX5, with an exhilarating and entertaining drive. Congratulations to Steve and to all the award winners, details of which can be found in the full results table.
Thanks to everyone who took part for supporting the event and making it the success we felt it was. Thanks also to John & Gwen Garfield of Crossway Services who provided us with a steady supply of excellent hot food and drinks all day - quite the best bacon roll I think I've ever had!
