It is with great sadness that we report the death of Kieron Winter, Chairman of Bristol Pegasus Motor Club, and good friend to Bristol Motor Club and many of its members. Kieron was - as usual - marshalling on a post at the Wessex Sprint at Colerne on the May Bank Holiday, when he suffered a major heart attack. He had immediate expert medical attention on site, and was airlifted to Bath RUH but tragically he died later that evening. His passing will leave a huge void in the Bristol Motorsport scene; few members can fail to have come into contact with him, as an organiser of events, competitor on Nav events, or fellow marshal on a speed event. But his tireless work behind the scenes went much further, not only as Chairman of his own club, but also, for example, diligently processing detailed results of sprints for the benefit of all competitors. The funeral was held at the South Bristol Crematorium, Bridgwater Road on Friday 16 May, where a large number of Kieron's friends from the local motor clubs joined colleagues from Rolls-Royce and family members to pay tribute and to celebrate his life. |
